Eastern Creek (North Shore Kart Club)
There are 2 tracks North Shore Kart Club runs their meetings on, all sharing the same start/finish straight, in and out grids, turns 1 and 2, the flip flop onto the short back straight. From there, each track differs as follows:
The
846 metre track is the most common layout you will encounter. It is the same layout at the 1024M track but half way up the hill there is a double apex left hander back down the hill - just watch for the marbles on the outside of the double apex and the kerbing on the exit isn't too kind on your equipment if you happen to run a little wide. A great place to set up a move down the hill.
The
1024M Track, also known as the 'carousel' or 'shop' track because of the carousel shaped section just near the kart shop funnily enough. This is the longest of all tracks used for general club racing with the run up the hill through the fast righthander and into the braking area for the carousel means that your kart has got to stop as well as it goes! Careful through the carousel though as poor kart setup and drive off this important section costs lengths at the other end of the track. The section following the carousel provides a good build up for a fast run down the hill towards start/finish. 110km/h is not uncommon in a Rotax kart at the bottom of the hill after a good run from the carousel.
