2008 NSKC CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - 4th Place
50 year old Micheal Raymond Baker, a Trucker contracted with Direct Couriers, was sick of watching his son Rodney race and decided to begin racing himself so that Rodney would have to run around after him for a change. Once he found out there was a dedicated class for drivers over 40 years old, Micheal jumped at the chance and never looked back. Although not the most competitive driver you'll ever see, Micheal's only out there for fun and that's all that matters to him, Micheal's not there to win trophies or personal glory, he's there to relax after a week of working his arse off and helps out as much as he can but leaves the competitive stuff to Rodney. After having gained a year of experience and always learning more about karting. Micheal achieved 4th in the NSKC club championship in 2008 and hopes to repeat the same success in 2009 with the introduction of the over 40's state wide series. Micheal would like to thank the following:
- His son Rodney and wife Joanne for all the money, time and effort they have put in.
- His parents-in-law, Neil and Eve, for all their help and support.
- Ian Baker and Parramatta Kart Warehouse for providing a roof over our heads at NSKC meetings and supplying us with with karts, parts and knowledge.
- Ken Mitchell from Racing Kart Services for providing engines and keeping them fast!
